Tsubas
La Tsuba es una pieza más de la Katana, pero que alcanzó un nivel de elaboración que la ha convertdo en un objeto de arte en si mismo, independientemente del sable en el que oficia la tarea de guardamano. Si bien inicialmente era realizada por el mismo artesano que forjaba la hoja y luego por el artesano que se ocupaba de fabricar las armaduras, la complejidad en el arte se refinó y aparecieron escuelas que se ocupaban de este objeto aplicando las técnicas de ornamentación mas variadas. Forja Fontenla realiza sus propias Tsubas según los métodos tradicionales. Nuestra especialidad son las Tsubas de tipo Sukashi tanto Ko Tosho como Ko Katchushi, Trabajadas casi completamente por forjado en hierro o acero damasco se calan minuciosamente utilizando modernos softwares como el Photoshop para poder trasladar los dibujos originales al hierro forjado.  

The Tsuba is one more piece of the Katana, but it have made a level of elaboration that convert it in an object of art in itself. independently of the sword in which it makes the hand guard task. Initially the Tsuba was made by the same craftsman who forged the blade or by the craftsman who make the armors.
Soon, the complexity in the art was refined and appeared schools that took care of this object applying a lot of techniques. Forja Fontenla makes its own Tsubas according to the traditional methods. Our specialty is Ko Tosho and Ko Katchushi Tsubas, with Sukashi. We worked in the Tsuba shape by forged in iron or Damascus steel. The Sukashi is drawing meticulously using modern softwares like the Photoshop to be able to transfer the original carving to the forged iron plate.
